Our Preschool Swim and Learn to Swim programs are great for youth aged 4 -11 who need to learn water safety and swimming basics.
All classes are small groups.
Preschool Swim
Preschool Swim is designed for children approximately 4 and 5 years of age. The purpose of the course is to facilitate developmentally appropriate learning of fundamental water safety and aquatic skills.
Preschool Swim consists of three levels. No skill prerequisites are required for Preschool Swim Level 1. For Preschool Swim Levels 2 and 3, children must be able to demonstrate the exit skills assessment of the previous level. All children should be evaluated prior to the start of a session or during the first lesson, regardless of level, to determine the appropriate starting point for each child.
On completion of all Preschool levels, children may enroll in Learn to Swim. A child who completes Preschool levels 1 or 2 and is 6 years old may enroll in Learn to Swim Level 1.

Level 1
Level 1 is designed to orient participants to the aquatic environment and to help them gain basic aquatic skills. In addition, participants start learning about how to be safe around water.
|
Level 2
Participants begin to perform skills at a slightly more advanced level and begin gaining rudimentary propulsive skills on both the front and the back. This level marks the beginning of independent aquatic locomotion skills.
|
Level 3
Participants learn the front crawl and elementary backstroke at rudimentary proficiency levels, and are introduced to the scissors and dolphin kicks. They will also learn the survival float and longer treading times.
