Art Gallery Spring 2026 Exhibition Schedule
The Art Gallery at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC) operates during the following hours:
Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. • Saturday: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. • Sunday: Closed

2026 Juried Photography Biennial
January 15 – February 26, 2026
A competitive exhibition open to photographers and artists aged 18 and up, in Alabama and the counties in Georgia adjacent to Lee County. The exhibition will be on view in the gallery from January 15, 2026 thru February 26, 2026. Photographers may enter up to two original works in any photographic medium completed in the last three years. A $40 entry fee is required. All works must be matted or mounted with white boards under plexiglass and be correctly wired for hanging.
(Deadline Extended) Entries are due Friday, January 9th between 9am and 5pm, at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center.
Total Eclipse of the Art: Gallery Show, Reception & Market
January 22 – February 28, 2026
The Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC) invites the public to reminisce on what love and heartbreak means to them this Valentine’s season. The exhibition will be on view from February 11 through 28, with an opening reception and outdoor market on Wednesday, February 11, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. in the JDCAC Art Gallery II and Ceramics Studio Patio. Stroll down Valentine’s Alley while viewing themed works by local artists, then find yourself, or your Valentine, a gift at the Total Eclipse of the Art Market on the Ceramics Patio.
Artists (16+) are invited to submit two themed artworks up to 48 x 48 inches. All artwork must be able to be displayed in a family friendly environment. Registration opens on January 9th. Artwork must be dropped off between January 22 through 31 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. to the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center.
The Market registration will be open to JDCAC affiliated artists (Ceramics Independent Studio members, Open Studio members, Instructors, etc.). Registration starts on January 9 and closes on February 10.
Spring Invitational Exhibition
March 9 – April 18
A variety of new and recent works by a number of selected regional artists and craftspersons.
21st Auburn CityFest Juried Art Exhibition and Preview Reception
April 23 and 25
An open exhibition highlighting paintings, works on paper, sculpture and crafts by area artists. Works will be on display at the historic Nunn Winston House, located at Kiesel Park.
The May Show: Watercolors
May 11 – June 18
An open exhibition featuring both transparent and opaque art mediums, techniques and styles.
