Mahjongg might look like a grown-up game, but teens often pick it up faster than anyone at the table. This class introduces American Mahjongg using official National Mahjongg League (NMJL) rules, taught at a teen pace and alongside other students learning the game together., , Mahjongg is more than just a game - it’s a workout for the brain. Players strengthen focus, memory, and strategic thinking while learning to recognize patterns, make quick decisions, and adapt as the game unfolds. Just as important, it’s a social,screen-free activity that builds confidence at the table and introduces a game they can enjoy for years to come. Jennie has played Mahjongg for over 20 years and teaches the game in thoughtful layers - using a clear, step-by-step approach that connects the game to patterns and concepts students recognize quickly. She honors the traditions that make Mahjongg timeless while making the learning process approachable, social, and fun. Jennie also taught both of her daughters to play, so she understands how quickly teens can grasp the game when they learn together with their peers., , Players will learn the tiles, the NMJL card, Charleston, exposures, and the rhythm of game play before jumping into real hands at the table.Teens often move through the basics quickly - many don’t even need the full two-class progression adults typically take before they’re confidently building hands and calling tiles. $60 per person
