Slimy salamanders, slugs, bugs and roly polies are all found as campers explore the icky, sticky world of hands-on field biology. It’s the kind of learning that kids thrive in – touching, seeing, smelling and examining while in-motion at a child’s pace. In this screen-free science camp, participants learn through the exploration of creeks, woods and fields. Add in nature-based games and science experiments for a full day of active, messy learning. Campers will search for bugs, frogs, turtles, millipedes, roly polies and other fascinating creatures. A live animal show will introduce wildlife such as snakes, birds, bats and/or salamanders. Our instructors include the 2025 Alabama Environmental Educator of the Year, along with master naturalists and scientists. Gross Out Day Camp (GOC) serves campers entering second through fourth grade in boutique camps limited to 20 campers. Camps run from 9 am to 5 pm. Fresh Air Family guarantees tired, dirty children (who learned science and life skills.) $360 per week.Financial Aid is available - Please contact instructor for details. No screens allowed, please do not bring any devices or toys.
