5:30 PM - 8:30 PM    Mahjongg - COMBO Beginner American Mahjongg Class (NMJL) - Very Beginner & Next Level Beginner American Mahjongg - Summer 2026 - Jennie Lombardo
The Beginner Combo Class combines Jennie's first two classes. Jennie has played Mahjongg for over 20 years and teaches the game in thoughtful layers — using a clear, step-by-step approach that connects the game to familiar concepts. She honors the traditions and respect that make Mahjongg timeless while making the learning process approachable and accessible. The (Very) Beginner Class: This class is designed for those who have never played in person — the true beginner. Players will learn tiles, terminology, the NMJL card, Charleston, exposures, and foundational strategy in a structured, supportive setting. The (Very) Beginner is taught in group size no more than 12 and is intended to be taken one time as your starting point into Mahjongg, creating a confident foundation for continued play. The (Next Level) Beginner Class: Designed for players who have completed The (Very) Beginner or have limited playing experience, this class moves from understanding the game to applying it with greater confidence. Through guided live play in groups of 4, Jennie reinforces best practices, strengthens decision-making, and builds the consistency that makes smooth game play feel more natural. Players will deepen their understanding of NMJL rules, table procedures, and game flow while gaining comfort at the table. Each class is thoughtfully tailored to the group, because every table — and every game — presents new learning opportunities. Together these classes start at the beginning and build foundations, clarity, reinforce rules, and confidence. You will complete 2 levels of instruction in this combination class. Week ONE - (Very) Beginner Mahjongg:  This class is for you if you have never played in-person. For the very-very beginner. Class is intended to be taken one time followed by the Next Level Beginner Mahjongg class. Week TWO - (Next Level) Beginner Mahjongg: Basics learned? Good. Now let’s play. In this next-level class, Jennie coaches live gameplay in groups of four—sharpening decisions, locking in “best practice”, and building the muscle memory that makes confident play feel automatic. You’ll learn why rules matter, how “best practice” elevates your game, and start looking like a seasoned player—not a newbie. Each class is tailored because each game is unique.Fee is $70 for two lessons. Students must attend both.  Students under the age of 16 may participate if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parent/Guardian must also be registered. ContactJennie Lombardo JBLAuburn@gmail.com(334) 759-0111

2:00 PM - 4:30 PM    Mahjongg - Teens Play American Mahjongg: Beginner Classes - Teens Play American Mahjongg: Beginner Classes - Summer 2026 - Jennie Lombardo
Mahjongg might look like a grown-up game, but teens often pick it up faster than anyone at the table. This class introduces American Mahjongg using official National Mahjongg League (NMJL) rules, taught at a teen pace and alongside other students learning the game together., , Mahjongg is more than just a game - it’s a workout for the brain. Players strengthen focus, memory, and strategic thinking while learning to recognize patterns, make quick decisions, and adapt as the game unfolds. Just as important, it’s a social,screen-free activity that builds confidence at the table and introduces a game they can enjoy for years to come. Jennie has played Mahjongg for over 20 years and teaches the game in thoughtful layers - using a clear, step-by-step approach that connects the game to patterns and concepts students recognize quickly. She honors the traditions that make Mahjongg timeless while making the learning process approachable, social, and fun. Jennie also taught both of her daughters to play, so she understands how quickly teens can grasp the game when they learn together with their peers., , Players will learn the tiles, the NMJL card, Charleston, exposures, and the rhythm of game play before jumping into real hands at the table.Teens often move through the basics quickly - many don’t even need the full two-class progression adults typically take before they’re confidently building hands and calling tiles. $60 per personTeen Table Notes • Designed for students entering 7th–10th grade • Mahjongg is a thoughtful table game, so players should be comfortable sitting and focusing during game play, • Friendly table etiquette keeps the game fun for everyone • Class begins and ends promptly; students should arrive/leave on time • Guardian/caregiver contact required for each drop off/pick up • If there is strong interest, I will add more timesFee is $60 for two lessons. Students should attend both.  ContactJennie Lombardo JBLAuburn@gmail.com(334) 759-0111
