Members of the studio group meet weekly to work on their own respective paintings. The open studio format means members are free to come and go according to their individual time needs. The instructor will give critical feedback and assist with process whenever requested. The instructional focus is primarily geared towards representational painting with oil and development of observational painting skills. Students will provide their own materials. 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM	Basket Weaving Workshops with Jacqueline - Holiday Bread Basket Workshop - Fall 2026 - Jaqueline McDonough Wooden Based Bread Basket: This class is for beginning basket weavers as well as weavers with prior basket weaving skills. This simple basket has an oval wooden base that gives the basket its shape. An evening class as well as a morning class session is offered on the same dates. The basket can be finished in one day, but I scheduled two classes as I don’t want anyone to ever feel rushed. So, if you finish the basket in one class, you don’t have to come back for the second class but you’re welcome to come back, purchase another wooden base (maybe in a different shape?) and weave another basket! There is no materials fee as all materials are included in the class price.Birds Nest Basket (Aug. 21 & 28): This fun class is for beginners as well as experienced basket weavers. As in all of Jackie’s classes, we will be building basket weaving skills as we weave. The basket can be finished in one class, but I offer two classes per each session since I don’t want anyone to feel rushed. If you finish your basket in the first class, you don’t have to come back for the second one if you don’t want to, but you are certainly welcome to come back to the second class and leave another! These are wonderful little baskets for gifts as well as home decor and make wonderful Christmas decorations. All materials and tools are supplied. Two summer sessions are offered. The first being June 26 and July 10 (with a break in between for the Fourth of July) and August 21 and 28. Each session has a morning or evening time. Although Tango at its core can be distilled into an algorithm of movement; true Argentine Tango is not a series of memorized steps, nor a dance that merely promotes mechanical reactions; rather it is a dance of improvisation where both partners listen to the music and, more importantly, listen to each other. The power of this dance, the rawness of the movements and connection with another person, is worth getting out of your comfort zone and doing it. Tango is drama, passion and romance, a dance of connection with the music and dialogue between partners. The essential reason tango makes us feel beautiful is the feeling we have when connecting with the music and our dance partners. Although Tango at its core can be distilled into an algorithm of movement; true Argentine Tango is not a series of memorized steps, nor a dance that merely promotes mechanical reactions; rather it is a dance of improvisation where both partners listen to the music and, more importantly, listen to each other. Whether or not you have rhythm, or if you feel you have two left feet. The power of this dance, the rawness of the movements and connection with another person, is worth getting out of your comfort zone and doing it. Members of this group have been dancing the Argentine Tango for ten years or more and are happy to share their tango skills. FREE to the public. 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM	Oil Painting Open Studio - Oil Painting Open Studio - Fall 2026 - AAA Painting Open Studio, under the support of the Auburn Arts Association and instructed by Nils Larson, will encourage artists to provide artistic fellowship, to share ideas/work and to be with other artists. Members of the studio group meet weekly to work on their own respective paintings. The open studio format means members are free to come and go according to their individual time needs. The instructor will give critical feedback and assist with process whenever requested. The instructional focus is primarily geared towards representational painting with oil and development of observational painting skills. Students will provide their own materials. FALL 2026 $90Oil Painting Open Studio will provide a weekly meet-up to share ideas, work, technique and process. Members work on their own respective paintings.
