Karate is a traditional Japanese martial art where that emphasizes self-confidence, self-discipline, respect, and physical fitness., Participants will be practicing punching, kicking, blocking, with physical contact with the instructor and with mats and pads. In sparring there will be physical contact with other students in a controlled environment. Each class will also include physical activity and exercises to develop coordination and control.The primary focus of this class is self defense, coordination, physical fitness, listening skills, focus on activities. We teach the basics of karate: strikes, blocks, and kicks. We may begin teaching kata, the basis for practicing all techniques. Students will be performing exercise drills and sparring techniques on heavy bags and various striking pads. Parents are invited to join their kids on the dojo floor!, We encourage families to workout and achieve rank together!! Build everlasting bonds and spend quality time with your family members! Parent involvement is key for all karateka (students of karate) to be successful! We do ask for parents to be involved in class (hold pads, boards) from time to time and practice with the students at home to get the most out of this class. $60 monthly enrollment or $220 full semester on Tuesdays  and Thursdays. (One day a week options are available only for beginner children's class). $50 new uniform fee payable to instructor for new students. Karate is a traditional Japanese martial art where that emphasizes self-confidence, self-discipline, respect, and physical fitness., Participants will be practicing punching, kicking, blocking, with physical contact with the instructor and with mats and pads. In sparring there will be physical contact with other students in a controlled environment. Each class will also include physical activity and exercises to develop coordination and control.The primary focus of this class is self defense, coordination, physical fitness, listening skills, focus on activities. We teach the basics of karate: strikes, blocks, and kicks. We may begin teaching kata, the basis for practicing all techniques. Students will be performing exercise drills and sparring techniques on heavy bags and various striking pads. Parents are invited to join their kids on the dojo floor!, We encourage families to workout and achieve rank together!! Build everlasting bonds and spend quality time with your family members! Parent involvement is key for all karateka (students of karate) to be successful! We do ask for parents to be involved in class (hold pads, boards) from time to time and practice with the students at home to get the most out of this class. $60 monthly enrollment or $220 full semester on Tuesdays  and Thursdays. (One day a week options are available only for beginner children's class). $50 new uniform fee payable to instructor for new students. The IAMBK Book Adventure Reading club will meet twice a week for 6 weeks and engage youth in reading circles that bring to life literature from themes that they select. Reading groups will also go on field trips for deeper discovery and exploration of the selected themes.
