Karate is a martial art that emphasizes self-confidence, self-discipline, respect, and physical fitness. In this class we focus on coordination, physical fitness, listening skills, and teach the basics of karate: strikes, blocks, and kicks. We will begin teaching kata, the basis for practicing all techniques. In the advanced and older participant classes, you may engage by physical contact with the instructor and with specialized equipment. In sparring there will be physical contact with other students in a controlled environment. Each class will also include physical activity and exercises to develop coordination and control. Shoot For The Stars – All Girls Academy is a weekly basketball skill development program designed specifically for girls ages 9–13. This academy provides a positive, competitive, and confidence-building environment where young female athletes can learn, grow, and develop both on and off the court. Held at Dean Road Recreation Center every Wednesday from 6:30–7:45 PM, the program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of basketball, including ball handling, shooting, footwork, passing, defense, and overall game understanding. Each session is built to help athletes improve their skills through structured training, high-quality repetitions, and game-like drills. Our goal is to help girls build confidence, develop strong habits, learn teamwork, and fall in love with the process of getting better. Players will be encouraged to compete, communicate, and support one another in an all-girls setting that promotes growth and leadership. The monthly cost is $100, which includes 4 sessions per month. Whether your daughter is new to the game or looking to take her skills to the next level, the Shoot For The Stars All Girls Academy is a great opportunity to train, improve, and be part of something special.  Why Join?This program creates a fun, competitive, and encouraging space where girls train together, grow their skills, and gain confidence both on and off the court. Shoot For The Stars – All Girls Academy is a weekly basketball skill development program designed specifically for girls ages 9–13. This academy provides a positive, competitive, and confidence-building environment where young female athletes can learn, grow, and develop both on and off the court. Held at Dean Road Recreation Center every Wednesday from 6:30–7:45 PM, the program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of basketball, including ball handling, shooting, footwork, passing, defense, and overall game understanding. Each session is built to help athletes improve their skills through structured training, high-quality repetitions, and game-like drills. Our goal is to help girls build confidence, develop strong habits, learn teamwork, and fall in love with the process of getting better. Players will be encouraged to compete, communicate, and support one another in an all-girls setting that promotes growth and leadership. The monthly cost is $100, which includes 4 sessions per month. Whether your daughter is new to the game or looking to take her skills to the next level, the Shoot For The Stars All Girls Academy is a great opportunity to train, improve, and be part of something special.  Why Join?This program creates a fun, competitive, and encouraging space where girls train together, grow their skills, and gain confidence both on and off the court.
