Our youth pathway classes provides a clear path to competitive tennis. The pathway is divided into:
Net Generation Age 7-10
Net Generation players are participating in:
USTA 10-Under Orange and Green Dot Tournaments
JTT 12-Under Beginner and 10-Under Orange & Green Dot JTT teams
USTA Level 7 tournament
USTA Team Tennis and Team Challenges

USTA Junior Tennis Age 11-17
USTA Junior Tennis players are participating in:
USTA Level 7, 6 - Intermediate Tournaments
USTA LEvel 6, 5, 4 - Advance Tournaments
USTA Junior Team Tennis Beginner and Intermediate
HighSchool JV and Varsity Tennis
Our instructors in the pathway have demonstrated the desire and proficiency to instruct, motivate and track player performance as there skills progress. The user platform implemented for our pathway is a "virtual tennis locker". The locker space allows players, parents and coaches to work together to give students a sober view of skill, progression effort and ultimately improvement.
The pathway is designed to put Age, Skill & Social interaction into perspective. The pathway allows instructors and students to give and receive the correct information at the correct age and skill level.
Youth intermediate and Advance Pathway Classes need instructor approval. You will need approval and then you will be given the secret word. Do not sign up without approval.

Request to Enter Intermediate Pathway
Orange & Green Dot Intermediate
Players Aged 7-11 benefits from playing with low compression tennis balls on a modified length courts. Players entering Intermediate Orange and Green must be able to rally, keep Score and serve. Players must display correct technique and have successfully completed intro to tennis, private instruction or demonstrate ample raw athletic talent.
Intermediate LV1
Players Age 11-17 who have recently graduated intro to tennis or recreational classes can enter Intermediate LV1. In this level, players should be able to rally, keep score, serve and display proper techniques. Players in this level have very little to no USTA, JTT or other match experience and are preparing for USTA Level 7, JTT or other match play opportunities, Intermediate LV 1 playing level would be UTR 0-1. This class is more technique orientated , blended with drills and match play.
Intermediate LV2
Players Age 13-17 who are actively participating in USTA LV 6 tournaments, JTT and match play days can enter this class. Players who are on the Auburn High JV team and have a playing level UTR 1-3 should enter this class. This class touches on technique, but is more footwork and match play orientated. Players Age 11 and 12 who demonstrates good physical strength, match experience and overall skill can apply to enter this class.
Advance
Players Age 11-21 who is actively participating in USTA LV 6, 5 and higher tournaments, JTT and match play days can enter this class. This class is geared toward players 15-21, but we do accept younger players if they meet a UTR level of at least 3 and/or are physically strong enough to participate. Advance class normally is by invitation only, but you can apply for the class by emailing fbosman@auburnalabama.org
